I am writing this letter about my child recent experience at the Florida Elks Youth Camp that was sponsored by Smiles Are Contagious. Being a single parent, I had a great concern of allowing my daughter to attend an overnight camp. I have always wanted to send my daughter to such a camp but it was either too expensive or I just was not secure to send her. My close friend expressed to me that it would be a safe and wonderful experience for my daughter to attend this event sponsored by Smiles Are Contagious at Florida Elks Youth Camp. Mrs. Nikki Curry highly recommended me to check it out. I called the camp as well as Mrs. Curry and addressed all of my concerns. They demonstrated excellent customer service. Their vast knowledge and professionalism gave me an immediate comfort.

Once I attended the meeting and the program was communicated to me, there were no questions left unanswered. I was extremely pleased with the professional service all the staff and volunteers demonstrated. Being a single parent I am very cautious of what my child participates in.

My daughter and I would like to send our gratitude for an everlasting experience. We would like to also personally extend our appreciation to the Smiles Are Contagious for their outstanding professional customer services. I am so honored to know that my child was chosen to be in such of a thriving environment.

On behalf of the Elks of Florida, thank you so much for the great partnership we have developed with Smiles are Contagious. 

In this day and age we really cannot do it alone.  It is somewhat rare for two 501c3 Corporations to work together, but the Florida Elks Youth Camp and Smiles are Contagious have set a high standard of cooperation and support for others to strive to follow. 

Our common goal of helping children less fortunate than ourselves has been achieved by our cooperative effort. 

The result of our pilot joint program last year tells us the story.  Bringing inner city children to a camp outside of their normal environment, taking away all modern electronics, instilling in them in just one short week, self confidence and respect, is our reward.  What greater compliment to our success could there be than those children wanting to return to expand on that safe camping experience? 

The Florida Elks Youth Camp presents the facility and program to help children, but only with the help and generosity of organizations like Smiles are Contagious who bear the expense to find the children, transport them, and help with the camping cost are we able to be such a success. 

Through your efforts, we are forward looking to building a better future for under privileged children. 

Thank you again for last year and we look forward to continued success in the future.

I wanted to take this time to thank you for your efforts and dedications to the Smiles are Contagious Foundation created for our mutual friend, 1st SGT Michael S. Curry.  Last year was a wonderful tribute to Michael and I look forward to this year’s event on March 28th.
